Playing with colours
Thomas the cat in colour. Been spending a few hours deciding what colours to use for Thomas.
Trying a different approach when it comes to rendering a cartoon character. Usually I have black or coloured outlines. However, this time, trying out a character without lines.
It is hard to get it right without lines since the main fill colours are flat. So the trick is to add slight shading or shadowing to emphasise depth and the difference between the different parts of the body, for example, the legs furthest away from us.
After playing around with it for a bit, finally got something I’m happy with. It is a flat style character, but effective at the same time. The style of today’s trends!
